Christmas Tag, Christmas favourites.
I was tagged by Living Life Our Way to do the Christmas Tag, so on this very exciting Christmas Eve here’s my answers to this little Christmas Q&A. I want to know your favourite part of Christmas, so please share in the comments section at the bottom, because I love reading about how everyone else enjoys my favourite holiday.
What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
My favourite Christmas movie, as of last year, is Arthur Christmas! A) I love an animation especially with Harrison being little still as they hold his attention better. B) I love the modern telling, it makes it so much more relatable for little ones in this day and age, Santa in a massive jet? I love it! C) it has so many of my favourite actors in it.
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
I have not, although I remember one Boxing Day it snowed a little but it didn’t even come close to settling!
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
In my heart, Christmas should always be at my Nanna’s house, it doesn’t feel like Christmas anywhere else. But since Harrison was born we have alternated Christmas between both sides of the families. Then do Boxing Day with the other side the next day.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
I don’t really have a favourite christmas song but my favourite Christmas album is the wonderful Christmas Album from Michael Buble. It stays on my phone all year round and pretty much as soon as we are into December it is my go to album to have playing in the background.
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
No! Santa hasn’t come yet! Although we do do a Christmas Eve box with Harrison
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Donna, Vixen, Rudolph. Those are the only ones I can remember! I’m going to have to revise before tonight!
Which holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?
Opening our Christmas Eve box tonight and having some relaxing family time just the three of us before the chaos tomorrow!
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake, I would love to get a real tree one year but they are messy and also I would be upset if I couldn’t find the perfect tree.
What is your all time favourite holiday treat/food/sweet?
Pigs in blankets! Those salty, porky, yummy badness! I will put as many of them on my plate as physically possible without being told off my by Mum!
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
Giving. I love the excitement of waiting for someone to open your present when you know you have got them something amazing! I think it helps that my birthday is only 3 weeks before Christmas so I have had a recent dose of receiving presents.
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I would love to go and spend Christmas really traditional one year. Somewhere snowy in a log cabin with a real fire and a massive tree like you see in Christmas cards. Ideally when the kids are around 8 so are old enough to appreciate it but still young enough to really feel the joy of Christmas.
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I normally start off a pro, but by the end of the wrapping I have drank several glasses of Baileys and I’m knackered and the fail rate increased rapidly. I try and wrap the more complicated shapes first because of it.
Most memorable Christmas moment?
Being about 5 years old and receiving a ballerina dress up outfit. It consisted of a pink leotard, pink tutu, pink little ballet shoes, an instructional dvd and most importantly a long blonde wig. My favourite most treasured memory of my dear beloved Grandad is him dancing around his living room where Christmas was always held, wearing my blond wig and pretending to be a ballerina one Christmas morning. It’s a memory I really hold dear to me.
What made you realise the truth about Santa?
Again, dear Grandad features in this one. Not only was Christmas Day held at my Nan and Grandad’s house but me and my mum (it was just the two of us at this point) would go round at sleep over at their house on Christmas Eve. My grandparents house is a 70s house with those little windows about a door frame so from my bed I could see a little out into the hallway. I can’t remember how old I was but, lets just say the loft hatch was directly outside my bedroom door. And whilst I laid awake in excitement unable to sleep on Christmas Eve I say my Grandad climb up into the loft through my door window and carry down my sack of toys!
What makes the holidays special for you?
Nostalgia. I miss that giddy excited feeling you get as a child about Christmas so for me Christmas is all about recreating that. I actually love the lead up to Christmas the most, the decorating, watching the films and wrapping up all the presents.
Now I want to here about your christmas’s I tag:
Enjoy and have a very Merry Christmas!!
