Sunny Winter’s Day!

I’m not a winter person. I definitely need the sun in order to enjoy any weather. So when those bright, fresh, crisp, sunny winter’s day pop up I am a happy woman. When today was one of those days I grabbed my camera and went out for a walk with my little person.

I’m incredibly lucky with where I live. I talked a bit about this in my ‘Why I love my area’ post, but where we live is the best of both worlds. It only takes 30 minutes to get into Central London by train but we also live in in an area surrounded by greenery. I love being able to go out for a walk every day and having somewhere pretty to walk is definitely good for the soul!

So today, after a lazy morning because we overslept and missed toddler group I realised that if Harrison was ever going to nap, he needed wearing out. So we donned our boots and jackets and off we went. Just round the back of our house is this gorgeous little patch of woodland. It only takes 10-15 minutes to walk through for adult legs and is the perfect little escape. Although it does of course take an hour on toddler legs! Needless to say my young man was exhausted and napped for nearly 4 hours after this adventure!

Here are some of my favourite snaps I took during our walk. Take a look at my facebook page to see more!

What is your favourite weather? My second favourite after these kind of days are thunderstorms!

I dislike the cold when it’s ice cold freezing. These photos are lovely!

I don’t like the cold weather either, but it is great to get the kids out if possible. It looks like a gorgeous day from the pictures. I love the bench made out of a log. I think I would have slept for four hours too lol.

Ahhh this looks like you both had fun! I’m more of a summer person as I love the sunshine, but I’ve got to say that I love bright cold days like this one! #KCACOLS

I much prefer the winter to the summer. Give me a crisp sunny January morning over a hot sticky summers day! I’ve done a lot of walking over the past year while on maternity leave. I hope that after I return to work in March we still have time to walk at the weekend because it’s become one of my favourite past times! Great pictures #KCACOLS

Oh, yes! You can’t beat a bit of January sun to brighten up the day. New Year feels a completely different proposition when the clouds are away. And it’s so much easier to head out of the house, well worth dragging the buggy across the muddy park. It’s great to have some woodland nearby; our local park is lovely.

How lucky you are to have this so close to your house!
I’m not always a fan of the cold weather, but I do love getting all wrapped up and going for a walk. That is unless it’s raining!!
