The Bedtime Tag: I may have a Ribena addiction ok?

Describe your bedtime routine

8.00pm We take Harrison upstairs to brush his teeth, change into his PJs and read a book. At the moment it is always the same damn book! Have kisses and cuddles and then he is down in bed by 8.30pm.

8.30pm We change into our pjs if we haven’t already put them on and go downstairs. If our plans for dinner are for something Harrison wouldn’t eat then we eat dinner after he goes to bed so I will start cooking whilst Daddy Fabs does a quick sweep of all the toys out in the lounge and puts them away.

9pm We are on the sofa, under a blanket with the TV on. Depending on how much TV we have to watch we will stay there until at least 11.30-12pm.

12pm I will go and shower and then get ready for bed

12.30am I try to be in bed with lights off by 12.30 at the latest but in all honestly it is quite often nearer 1am!

 

What are your favourite pyjamas?

For lounging is a pair of Daddy Fabs fleecy robot pj bottoms and a slouchy t-shirt. TMI coming up but I sleep naked, I hate sleeping with clothes on, I end up all tangled up with pjs twisted up around my boobs and I find it really difficult to get comfy. So ultimate favourite is my birthday suit!

 

What is your current bedtime reading?

I don’t tend to read a book at bedtime, I do a quick scan through my social media pages, especially Facebook and Instagram but if I have time Twitter as well. But I am reading After You by Jo Jo Moyes at the moment.

 

What would I find on your bedside table?

A lamp, my glasses, at least one empty glass of Ribena and a full glass of Ribena, moisturiser, tweezers, my BBT thermometer and my phone charger.

 

What scent makes you sleepy?

Vanilla. I love the smell of vanilla, makes me feel all cosy and warm. I can not stand the smell of lavender, it makes me feel sick!

 

What is your usual bedtime and wake up times?

On work days (Monday-Wednesday) I try to be in bed ready for sleep by midnight and then I get up at 6am. On my days off I try and be ready for sleep by midnight as well but realistically it’s nearer 1am, Thursdays and Fridays I wake up when Harrison gets up which is normally around 8-8.30am but the last few weeks it has been 6-6.30 which is driving me insane! At the weekend Daddy Fabs gets up with Harrison because they are both morning people which I definitely am not and they let me sleep in until 9.30-10am. And it is amazing!

 

What are your top three bedtime products?

My Clinique Moisturiser – I love this stuff! A large glass of Ribena and my electric blanket for getting the bed all snuggly and warm for when I climb in.

What is your most common sleeping position?

On my tummy with one leg bent up.

 

Do you have anything you take to bed with you?

Ok, real talk, don’t laugh at me. But I have a cuddly toy dog that comes to bed with me, I’ve had him since childhood and he is so soft and comfy!

 

What is your worst bedtime habit?

Accidentally staying on my phone or reading until gone 3am. Before Harrison I used to do this all the time and it was so bad! Luckily I have got myself into much better habits nowadays and it is very rare I do this anymore.
